Running for a Cause: Aletheia Academies Trust Takes on Movember!
On Saturday, 23rd November, the Aletheia Academies Trust community laced up their trainers and braved Storm Bert to support an incredible cause: Movember.
Whether walking or running 2.5k or 5k, participants came together with a shared mission—to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. Despite the rain pouring down, spirits were high, and smiles (and moustaches!) were painted on every face. Together, we raised an impressive £901 for this vital cause. The event embodied the spirit of unity within the Trust. Armed with determination and a dash of humour, participants and supporters took a stand against prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health challenges, and suicide prevention. The rain may have been relentless, but it could not dampen the energy of the day.
Some of our four-legged friends even joined the effort! From wagging tails to rain-soaked fur, the dogs brought an extra dose of joy and motivation to everyone involved.
The event began with a lively warm-up session led by the amazing Leah, who also ensured we finished the day with a much-needed cool down (and a pretty harsh challenge!). Her enthusiasm and dedication set the tone, motivating runners of all abilities to push through their limits.
We were thrilled to welcome Beginners2Runners, whose members showed incredible support and added to the cheerful atmosphere. Special thanks also to Meopham Colts Yellow Under 18s Football Club, who joined us to demonstrate the power of community in action.
As participants crossed the finish line—some drenched, some winded, but all triumphant—it was clear that this event was about more than just running. It was about raising awareness and showing solidarity for a cause affecting many lives.
On behalf of Aletheia Academies Trust, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who ran, walked, donated, or supported this event. You made this event a success; your contributions will help make a real difference.
Finally, a huge shout out goes to Cliffe Woods Primary School for graciously hosting us. Their generosity in providing the venue gave us the perfect setting to rally together for Movember.
Here’s to every runner, walker, and supporter who joined us in the fight for men’s health. Thank you for standing with us. Let’s keep the momentum going—together, we can achieve so much!
