Dodgeball Drama: The Trust Games Heat Up!

We were thrilled to host the second round of this year’s Trust Games last night with an energising and action-packed Trust Dodgeball Event. A huge thank you to all who attended and took part. We were delighted to welcome 11 schools and an incredible 110 Year 3 and 4 pupils, a wonderful turnout that truly showcased the strength of our Trust community.
From start to finish, the atmosphere was buzzing. Every pupil threw themselves into the spirit of friendly competition, and it was clear from the smiles, cheers, and determined faces that the dodgeball action was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The event itself was as competitive as it was exciting. With two separate three-way ties during the group stages, tensions rose, and the energy intensified, resulting in two sudden-death round-robin play-offs - an unforgettable moment for players and spectators alike! Throughout, every student demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and impressive skill, representing their schools with pride.

We were especially pleased to receive feedback from Horton Kirby, who shared how excited their pupils were on their return to school. They noted that the enthusiasm of the event even encouraged children who were originally too nervous to take part to ask if they could join next time - an inspiring reminder of the power these events have in building confidence, connection, and joy.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Mr Poppy and Mr Knight from Saint George's School whose hard work, organisation, and commitment ensured the whole evening ran seamlessly and in such a positive spirit. We are equally proud of our Saint George's young leaders (aged 13–14), who officiated and supported the event so professionally. Officiating in front of teachers and parents is no small task, yet they performed magnificently under pressure. As always, their contributions are essential to the success of our Trust Games.
We are already looking forward to the next exciting match - the Basketball Event for Years 5 and 6 on 21st January 2026.
Thank you once again to every school, staff member, young leader, and pupil involved. It was a fantastic celebration of teamwork, enthusiasm, and the values that underpin the Aletheia Academies Trust.
