A Spectacular Start to ‘The Greatest Show’

On Tuesday 24th March 2026, we were delighted to host night one of our Trust Choir Concert, bringing together pupils and staff from across our schools for a truly unforgettable celebration of music, talent and collaboration.
This year’s theme, ‘The Greatest Show’, set the stage for an evening filled with iconic songs from much-loved productions including Matilda, Oliver!, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Hairspray, The Wiz and Tina. Each school choir brought their own unique energy and character to the stage, showcasing not only their musical ability but also their confidence and joy in performing.

Highlights from the evening included:
-
Gravesend Grammar School’s spirited performance of ‘Consider Yourself’ from Oliver!
-
Saint George’s pupils, who impressed with two performances - Primary with ‘Waterloo’ from Mamma Mia! and Secondary with ‘Simply the Best’ from Tina
-
Cliffe Woods’ uplifting ‘Thank You for the Music’ from Mamma Mia!
-
Holy Trinity’s show-stopping ‘You Can’t Stop the Beat’ from Hairspray
-
Halling Primary’s joyful ‘Brand New Day’ from The Wiz
-
Whitehill’s fun-filled ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’, complete with a backwards recitation from some of the children
-
Rosherville’s energetic ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’ from The Lion King
-
St Botolph’s fantastic Matilda Medley, full of confidence and personality

A particular highlight of the evening was the combined choir, where all pupils came together to perform ‘A Million Dreams’, ‘Rewrite the Stars’ and ‘This Is Me’ from The Greatest Showman. These powerful performances truly captured the spirit of the event - unity, aspiration and celebration.
We were also thrilled to see staff from across the Trust take to the stage, delivering a lively and much-enjoyed Grease Megamix, adding an extra layer of fun to an already vibrant evening.
A huge well done to our Saint George's Secondary student hosts, Ruby and Isaac, whose confident and engaging commentary added humour and insight throughout the show.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Amy Chitty, Headteacher at St Botolph’s, for organising and leading such a remarkable event. Her dedication and hard work ensured that the evening was a resounding success for all involved.
As we reflect on a fantastic night one, we now look forward with excitement to the second evening of performances, where the remaining schools will take to the stage and continue this wonderful celebration of music across our Trust. 🌟
