The Big Questions in Classrooms project was the result of months of dedication, collaboration, and thoughtful planning by our RE Best Practice Leaders across the Trust. This ambitious research project invited every primary school within the Trust to explore a deceptively simple but deeply complex question:

Does it matter if we cut down one tree?

Rather than approaching this question from a single perspective, schools explored it through multiple lenses. Children considered the question as historians, geographers, artists, theologians, and scientists - examining environmental, ethical, social, spiritual, and cultural viewpoints. This cross-curricular approach placed critical thinking at the heart of classroom practice.

We wrapped up an amazing year of sports with our Trust Sports Day on Tuesday, 16th July 2024. Despite the weather, spirits were high, and it was a memorable day for everyone involved. This year, we introduced a new results system where the winners are determined based on their performances throughout the year, not just on the final day. This change has highlighted the consistent efforts of the schools over the entire year.

Aletheia Holds First Community Arts Project in Gravesend

This year, Aletheia Trust launched its first Community Arts Project, organised by Trust Improvement Officer, Mrs Crinnion. Working to the artistic brief of ‘Roots and Wings’ in collaboration with Martin Brockman from Outdoor Studio Arts (CIC), our primary schools used natural resources to create artwork shown to a wider community in Gravesham. The schools interpreted the theme in their own way, considering their local context and school vision, to create a large art installation involving all children in their school.

At Aletheia Academies Trust, as a charitable organisation, we are dedicated to supporting and fundraising to help those in need wherever we can. Earlier in the year, The Aletheia Pupil Voice, a group of pupils representing all the schools within the Trust, selected Cancer Research UK as the charity they would collectively support this year. The group voted to have a 30-minute 'no-lesson' event, with some schools adapting this concept to suit them, but all in aid of raising funds for a worthy charity.
